Dear Radiant, we’re running it back!
Join us this Sunday at 10AM at Modesto Junior College’s Recital Hall or at 5PM at Emanuel Lutheran Church. It was a blast last time we met at MJC and we are excited for another preview service there.
We are in a season of discerning service times and locations — considering how different times and/or locations might aid our mission of making disciples of Jesus.
So this a part of the experiment. If you have feedback about the service times — we’d love to hear it. At the 5PM service at ELC we’re excited to welcome a guest worship leader Chris Denlinger, who leads United Central Valley — a ministry that brings churches together for worship.
*Remember that we are offering children’s church up to 5th grade at the 10AM and up to 4 years old for the 5PM service.

THIS SUNDAY – LIFE CHANGE IN THE WAY OF JESUS
We’re continuing our series on how God changes lives. How do we welcome, cooperate, and live in God’s transforming power? How might we orient our lives, really practically, so that this happens in a real way?
As always, Jesus, the way, shows us the way.
This Sunday we’re considering Jesus’ practices of solitude and prayer and how they are foundational for our lives as his apprentices.
In a noisy world, clamoring for our attention, we are invited to find a different way of being, a life with God. But this takes intentionality. It will not happen by default.
I’m excited to dig deeper with you all into these life giving and life changing practices.

RAD YTH ALL-NIGHTER – 9/13 
HOME CHURCH STARTS MID-SEPTEMBER
Home churches are getting back starting in mid-September. Radiant Home Churches are communities of discipleship in the way of Jesus and are foundational to our life as a church. If you are not currently in a home church, or would like to try a new home church, please fill out this interest form, and we’ll follow up with you! There are groups forming currently — about 6 or 7 taking shape. Leaders will be hanging out on Sunday to introduce themselves this will be a good chance to explore a group to join.

THE ALPHA COURSE – BEGINS SEPTEMBER 26
The Alpha Course is returning!
What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What’s the purpose of life? What’s next? It’s for those exploring Jesus, for those who are skeptical, for those who want to be refreshed. It is an 8 week course, but you are welcome to come to the first gathering to check it out, no commitment required. This is a great community to invite friends who are exploring faith — all questions welcomed If you’re looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions, share your own opinion, or even just observe, there’s a place for you. SAMANTHA AND SERGIO WEDDING SHOWER SEPTEMBER 22 2PM
We are so excited for Sergio and Samantha! They are getting married in November and the church is hosting a co-ed wedding shower for them on 9/22 at 2PM. All welcome! They are registered at the knot.
