Hello friends,
It is the one year anniversary of Radiant’s grand opening. Woohoo!
We are having a party to celebrate the gracious reality that Jesus has used (and is using) us, a bunch of broken, willing, and I’d say, quite fun, people to form a new community of his disciples in Modesto.
We’ll kick it off at 4pm with lawn games (cornhole, anyone?) and a bounce house (who doesn’t love a bounce house!). At 5pm we’ll have begin our worship service. And at 6:30pm we’ll close with dinner — burgers and root beer floats.
Let’s keep growing this party and this community — invite a few friends and join us on Sunday!
This Sunday we’re also beginning a new teaching series on the Jesus’ sermon on the mount — Matthew chapters 5-7. Undoubtedly, this is the most famous sermon ever delivered — yet also perhaps one of the most misunderstood.
We are calling this series, “The Simple Way: Jesus’ Guide to the Good Life in an Anxious World.” While our culture suggests innumerable and unsatisfying paths to the ever-elusive “good life,” Jesus in fact offers a clear path.
Our quest in this series is to rediscover the simplicity of Jesus’ way in our fragmented, distracted, and anxious time.
His vision of life in the kingdom of God here and now is still the life we all long for — and it is available to all who would place their confidence in him.
Let’s go up to the mountain and hear his words again.

HOME CHURCHES ARE GETTING READY…
Radiant Home Churches are communities of discipleship in the way of Jesus and are foundational to our life as a church. We plan to begin the week of 9/17. If you are not currently in a home church, or would like to try a new Home Church, please fill out this interest form, and we’ll follow up with you as the groups take shape. You can also directly reach out to the leaders listed below and they will get you connected.

The Alpha Course is returning!
What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What’s the purpose of life? What’s next?
It’s for those exploring Jesus, for those who are skeptical, for those who want to be refreshed. It is an 10 week course, but you are welcome to come to the first gathering to check it out, no commitment required. This is a great community to invite friends who are exploring faith — all questions welcomed If you’re looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions, share your own opinion, or even just observe, there’s a place for you. GIVING UPDATE
August giving totaled $13,208. The denomination’s target budget for us at year two in the church plant is $13,250 per month. We are at 99.7% of our year two monthly budget!
