SENT OUT LIKE LAMBS AMONG WOLVES – THIS SUNDAY @ 11:15 AM.
When Jesus sends out his disciples in pairs to go proclaim the kingdom of God, he delivers a surprising sort of a pep talk: “Go, I send you out like lambs among wolves.”
I wonder about the looks on the disciples’ faces after hearing this? I wonder if any reconsidered their new task!
But this strange pep talk to the disciples is the same strange pep talk Jesus gives to us.
We are still sent to proclaim and demonstrate God’s kingdom like lambs.
There is something essential to the task that requires this kind of vulnerability. We are not to be wolves among lambs (sadly, this has often happened in the church) but lambs among the wolves.
In doing so, like the disciples, we are a given a unique opportunity to see the love and power of God working through our weakness.
I wonder if we’ve been missing it all along? Maybe it is, after all, simple. We’ve been so captive to strategy and method and technique that we’ve missed that God just wants our hearts.
We provide God room to do what only he can do.
We’re excited to start a new teaching series on “being sent like lambs” this week.
Yes, it’s a different kind of pep talk — but it’s the one we need.

SERVICE TIME UPDATE – 5PM STARTING AUGUST 14th!
We’re moving forward in faith.
Starting August 14th, 5PM will be our new worship service time. Our location will remain at Emanuel Lutheran (324 College Ave).
We’ll celebrate the new time with a sweet treat after the first 5PM service.
Spread the word, invite some friends, we’re excited about the new possibilities that are ahead of us, and grateful for the space to worship.
SEASON OF PRAYER AT RADIANT
As we gear up for Radiant’s “Grand Opening” on Sunday, September 11th, we are creating several intentional spaces and rhythms of prayer. We need God’s presence and power more than anything! The way forward begins with prayer.
1) MONDAY MORNING PRAYER MEETINGS – STARTING 8/8 @ 6 AM.
Start your week with morning prayer on Mondays from Aug. 8th through Sep. 5th. Leading up to Radiant’s “Grand Opening” our prayer team will be hosting a zoom prayer meeting. We will be praying that God would empower our witness to Jesus as we follow him on mission. Each meeting will last from 6-6:20AM. Here’s the link: meet.google.com/dvu-mfev-noa
2) NATURALLY SUPERNATURAL WORKSHOP – AUG 27. 1-5 PM.
At Radiant we exist to make disciples of Jesus who are radiant with God’s love and power. But how do we practically operate and walk in the power of God’s Spirit? We are creating some workshop space to learn about living a lifestyle that is both naturally supernatural and not unnecessarily weird. Pastor Sean Blomquist will be joining us to lead us in a workshop where we learn how to become naturally supernatural through cooperation with the Holy Spirit.

3) 48 HOURS OF PRAYER EVENT
Mark your calendars! We are praying for for 48 hours straight as a church starting Thursday, Sept 8 at 3 PM and ending Sept. 10. at 2:30 PM. Yes, even at 3 AM, we will be praying. We will end our prayer vigil with a communion service from 2:30-3:00 PM. More details to follow in the next few weeks! Sign up for your slot here.
