October 6, 2023
Hey Radiant,
We’re back in our “The Simple Way” series this week and diving into Jesus’ teaching about committing adultery in one’s heart (Matthew 5:27-30).
Like so much of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus challenges us with his radical vision of goodness in God’s kingdom.
These verses are especially challenging for us — our sex-saturated culture is almost centered in the “lustful gaze.” Jesus’ words strike us hard — and it’s difficult to imagine how we can cultivate this kind of life in our world.
But as always, Jesus’ teaching contains really good news for the exhausted, the defeated, and the ashamed. This is news that those ravaged by the sexual and technological revolutions need to hear.
See you at 5pm! (And don’t forget it is Second Sunday Supper potluck following the service this week!)

THE ALPHA COURSE – TUESDAYS 6-8PM
Alpha just started last week — jump in this week to catch up!
What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What’s the purpose of life? What’s next?
It’s for those exploring Jesus, for those who are skeptical, for those who want to be refreshed. It is an 10 week course, but you are welcome to come to the first gathering to check it out, no commitment required. This is a great community to invite friends who are exploring faith — all questions welcomed If you’re looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions, share your own opinion, or even just observe, there’s a place for you. Sign up here.
