Dear Radiant,
It is easy to forget there is a war going on, an invisible spiritual battle raging amid our everyday lives.
C.S. Lewis in his classic, Mere Christianity, provides a compelling picture our world:
“Enemy–occupied territory–that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us all to take part in a great campaign of sabotage.”
Do you imagine life this way? What would change if you did?
When I believe that this is, in fact, reality, my world becomes charged with meaning and my purposes are reoriented.
I sense I am being invited to respond to our king’s summons to take part in this great campaign of loving sabotage by declaring and demonstrating the rule and reign of king Jesus.
To be clear, this sort of battle is “not against flesh and blood” (that is, other people) and our weapons are of a different sort than that of the world’s.
Paul writes to “put on the full armor of God…and take up the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God” and to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
This invisible war is here (whether you like it or not) and you really do have a indispensable part to play.
So this Sunday we are going to do a little training as we learn to operate in the power we’ve been given through prayer, joining king Jesus in the unfolding of the new creation.
See you this Sunday at 10 AM.

CHRISTIAN STATEMENT ON REFUGEES
Friends, this continue to be fraught times for many in our local community and nation, particular for immigrants and refugees. Often it is difficult to know how exactly we are to respond or engage in love in a meaningful way because of the speed of the news cycle and the fraught nature of the political discourse. But this is biblical bedrock for us: we believe that all people are made in God’s image and deserve to be treated justly, humanely, and with dignity.
As a church, we have partnered extensively with World Relief and their work with refugees locally. I deeply value their biblical posture in this current climate and their thoughtful political advocacy. I was drawn to sign this statement of support towards refugees and encourage those interested to read this statement, reflect, respond, and pray as God leads you.
HOME CHURCH RESTART
Our Home Churches are kicking back up this up. If you are interested in joining a Home Church feel free to reach out to one of the leads listed above.
