Dear Radiant,
What a lovely week of prayer! I kind of feel like we’ve been marinating in God’s presence.
It’s been incredible (bewildering, even) how many slots have been filled in the 24-7Prayer Global Week of Prayer. The first three days were a completely unbroken chain of prayer and most other slots have been filled.
There’s still a few slots to fill — I encourage to grab an hour or two to spend with Jesus. It’s really simple, sign up here and show up for your hour at Kingdom Coffee cafe (located in the Century Center on Oakdale & Orangeburg). You don’t have to be an expert at prayer or anything, just your presence seeking God’s presence.
While I am still processing some of the experiences of this week — the lines of Calah Mikal’s song “Eyes of the Father” have deeply resonated:
“His gaze is heavy, heavy on me
His eyes are shining with delight in me
If they’re always on the sparrow
How much more on me”
Simply put, knowing that the Father sees me changes the way I pray. I ask, not hoping he sees or hears us, but knowing that his eyes are beaming with delight over his child.
Friends, we wrap the Haggai Teaching Series this Sunday with a reminder that we are the LORD’s — like a signet ring upon his finger.
The astounding news is that we belong to him through Jesus Christ. Even more bewildering are called to represent him in the world. I know that as we seek to move from Holy Discontent to Spiritual Renewal as a church this renewal is absolutely impossible without the power and presence of God. Therefore, the staring point (and end point) is ever and always….prayer.

HOME CHURCHES START MID-SEPTEMBER
Home churches are getting back starting in mid-September. Radiant Home Churches are communities of discipleship in the way of Jesus and are foundational to our life as a church. If you are not currently in a home church, or would like to try a new home church, please fill out this interest form, or contact one of the leaders below and we’ll follow up with you!
THE ALPHA COURSE BEGINS SEPTEMBER 25
What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What’s the purpose of life? What’s next? It’s for those exploring Jesus, for those who are skeptical, for those who want to be refreshed. It is an 10 week course, but you are welcome to come to the first gathering to check it out, no commitment required. This is a great community to invite friends who are exploring faith — all questions welcomed! And more than that — dinner is included! Sign up here.
