This is great — Chuck is in town!
Who’s Chuck, you ask?
Here’s Chuck Wysong (in his own words):
Husband, dad, friend, old surfer, golfer and love to read and lead! I am a communicator and have spoken to NFL chapels, NBA chapels, all school assemblies, weddings and special occasions. I now serve as the Executive Director of Mission Springs Camps and Conference Center here in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Scotts Valley, CA.
I’ll be there and excited to learn from Chuck.
In particular, I’m excited because Chuck is also a church planter, having planted a church in Santa Barbara. In that vein, he’ll bring a message from Acts 2 titled “Church at its Best.”
And don’t forget, we’ll also have the Linger worship night following our normal service. Stay, linger, seek God’s face together.

SUMMER SCHEDULE KIDS UPDATE:
*For the month of July we will have the Glow group (ages 0-3) but take a break for Shine and 45 degrees Rad. We’re excited to have them in service.

EXCITING PLANS…
If you missed the town hall meeting a few weeks back — here are our slides from the evening that explains our thinking.
In short, we are excited to move forward with this experiment as we follow the Holy Spirit into mission and will plan on holding preview services at the MJC recital hall (1130 Stoddard Ave) on 8/18 and 9/8.
If you have any questions — I’m glad to field them. Team leaders will be reaching out soon to those who responded to helping on ministry teams for those dates.
LINGER WORSHIP We are creating space for worship and prayer! It’s simple, we want to seek his face. Come and go as you please. We’ll be meeting from 6-10 this Sunday.

UNITE CONFERENCE
We sent our first contingent of high schoolers to the Unite Conference in San Diego July 15-29 (COMING BACK TODAY) This is a denomination wide, every three years conference for high schoolers. Unite will be “a transformative five-day event filled with powerful worship, engaging youth group sessions, heartfelt prayer, exhilarating afternoon activities, and meaningful acts of service.” Excited to hear how God met the youth this past week — pray for God’s leading as they come back from the mountain top of this experience.
ALASKA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
John Fowler is joining a team from Modesto Covenant to do construction work at the Covenant’s college in Soldotna, Alasksa that serves native Alaskan young adults. Pray for John and the team!
WOMEN’S CONFERENCE AT MISSION SPRINGS OCTOBER 4-6 2024
BLESSED AND BROKEN: Jesus took the bread, blessed the bread, broke the bread, and gave the bread. These four words not only summarize the life of Jesus but are central to our spiritual lives as well. Join us for an unforgettable weekend with other women where we dive into what it means to live as chosen, blessed, broken, and given children of God.
