I hope everyone had a great Fourth!
This Sunday we continue our summer sermon series, “Acts: The World Turned Upside Down” diving into Acts 16.
Our very own Jim Jacobs (usually on the bass guitar!) will be teaching Sunday.
The epic continues as the Holy Spirit leads the Jesus movement forward into mission. We’ll walk with Paul and Silas as they encounter a fortune-telling slave, come under arrest, sing midnight hymns, and comfort a suicidal jailer.
As always in Acts, it’s an adventure.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY WITH WORLD RELIEF
World Relief Modesto is looking for volunteers for their Afghan youth program. This is for Afghan teens ages 13-17 who have come to the country in the last few years (some will have been in the last few weeks). Word Relief recognized a need for this program a few years ago when so many families were coming from a war torn country, and needed community in order to heal. The teenagers have been through so much, and having friends and volunteers who are caring will mean the world to them.
The program will run July 10-28 from 9am-2pm every week day. This time will be filled with games, activities, sports, community speakers, and field trips to places like the bowling alley, MJC’s campus, dry creek, funworks, and more. It is totally free for you to join. Volunteers must be 18+ and clear a background check. Click the link to fill out your volunteer application (which can be brief) to get started!

THE MISSIO CONFERENCE – 8/18-8/19
This is exciting. We are joining forces with our Covenant brothers and sisters at Modesto Covenant Church and Covenant Grove to go deeper in Christ and further in mission together. This will be a Friday and Saturday in-town conference shared across our three sites. This is all about creating space for the Holy Spirit to encourage, empower, and equip us for participating in God’s mission in Modesto and beyond. WOMEN’S CONFERENCE AT MISSION SPRINGS 9/29 – 10/1
Registration for our conference’s Covenant Women’s Conference is now open. This conference will take place at the beautiful Mission Springs Conference in Scotts Valley, CA. This will also be a weekend of encouragement, fellowship, and rich memory-building, all with one goal in mind, that you leave Mission Springs knowing that you are loved by God and your purpose is to love others.
