RESCUED TO REAP ETERNAL LIFE – THIS SUNDAY @ 11:15 AM.
This time of summer, cornfields are tall with green swaying stalks. Just a few weeks ago the stalks were just knee high, months before that just a hint of green emerging from the ground. Of course, this coming harvest all began with some seed sowed.
Paul issues a sobering warning in Galatians 6 that we will reap what we sow. It is not so much a matter of if you are sowing, but rather what you are sowing.
What we give our life will be what we reap.
I wonder what is growing in your life right now? Are you sowing to the Spirit — or sowing to please the flesh?
The good news is that the rescuing work of Jesus Christ has provided fertile ground for us. We get to sow, knowing God is with us. This new creation ground is ours to work with freedom and joy.
This is how life change happens — God empowering our efforts to create something we could never do on our own.
We wrap up our series in Galatians this Sunday — join us at 11:15 AM. We will sow wildly to the Spirit and trust God will grow good, new things in and through our lives!
NUTS GAME – FRIDAY, 7/29 7:05 PM FIRST PITCH.
The game is tonight! It’s too late to buy tickets through us, but you can purchase tickets at the box office for the grandstand. We will be seated in the grandstand section on the first base side. If you purchased tickets, simply go to the will call line at the main entrance. They will have tickets under your name.
SERVICE TIME UPDATE – 5PM STARTING AUGUST 14th!
We’re moving forward in faith.
Starting August 14th, 5PM will be our new worship service time. Our location will remain at Emanuel Lutheran (324 College Ave).
While no time works perfectly for everyone, 5PM was the most popular time on the survey.
We like how a 5PM service allows folks to finish the weekend and enter the week with worship. We like how it will allow some folks who work on Sundays to worship. We like the idea of dinners after church together. We like how it’s not too late in the evening and not too early. We like that’s a little bit different.
I know for some this is deeply disappointing. These sorts of changes can be hard and disruptive for families. I am so sorry. I totally get it and I would be glad to connect with you around your concerns.
But we believe there’s also great opportunity in this challenge. God is at work and active and will use our availability to him (even at 5pm!) to reach others with his relentless love.
To be sure, Radiant’s impact won’t be linked to having the best or ideal worship service time or space but rather whether or not God’s presence is with us. That’s our prayer.
We will continue to worship at 11:15 AM on July 31, and August 7th.
Starting August 14th, we’ll be at the same ELC campus but at 5PM!
Friends, I am excited for the adventure ahead.
SEASON OF PRAYER AT RADIANT
As we gear up for Radiant’s “Grand Opening” on Sunday, September 11th, we are creating several intentional spaces and rhythms of prayer. We need God’s presence and power more than anything! The way forward begins with prayer.
1) MONDAY MORNING PRAYER MEETINGS – STARTING 8/8 @ 6 AM.
Start your week with morning prayer on Mondays from Aug. 8th through Sep. 5th. Leading up to Radiant’s “Grand Opening” our prayer team will be hosting a zoom prayer meeting. We will be praying that God would empower our witness to Jesus as we follow him on mission. Each meeting will last from 6-6:20AM. We will provide a link next week to this online gathering.
2) NATURALLY SUPERNATURAL WORKSHOP – AUG 27. 1-5 PM.
At Radiant we exist to make disciples of Jesus who are radiant with God’s love and power. But how do we practically operate and walk in the power of God’s Spirit? We are creating some workshop space to learn about living a lifestyle that is both naturally supernatural and not unnecessarily weird. Pastor Sean Blomquist will be joining us to lead us in a workshop where we learn how to become naturally supernatural through cooperation with the Holy Spirit.
3) 48 HOURS OF PRAYER EVENT
Mark your calendars! We are praying for for 48 hours straight as a church starting Thursday, Sept 8 at 3 PM and ending Sept. 10. at 2:30 PM. Yes, even at 3 AM, we will be praying. We will end our prayer vigil with a communion service from 2:30-3:00 PM. More details to follow in the next few weeks!
