RESCUED FOR INTIMACY – THIS SUNDAY @ 11:15 AM.

Intimacy is “knowing and being known.”

But intimacy is scary because it requires vulnerability.  You know, like that strange thrill of sustained eye contact.

Maybe that same fear was at work in the Galatians and those encouraging them to adopt the “works of the law.”  There was a fear, perhaps, that what they had wasn’t enough for God.  If they were really seen — they would be found lacking.

So, they thought, we need to add on like these visiting teachers are saying.  Jesus + __________.

But the good news is that it is never Jesus + in order to be loved.   It is simply Jesus.  There is nothing hiding behind him, nothing more is needed.  His death and resurrection is more than enough.

What we read in Galatians 4 is nothing less than an unveiling of the heart of God.  God simply wants us to come home as sons and daughter who know Him as “Abba, Father.”

That’s his ache.

This is the reason for it all.

That we would be with God and as we are with God would be transformed to be more like him — “until Christ is formed in you.”

Join us Sunday as we continue our journey through Galatians — as we dare to make eye contact with our loving God again.

BACKYARD WORSHIP NIGHT CHANGE (CHANGED FROM WEDNESDAY NIGHT TO THIS SUNDAY NIGHT)

Due to some last minute schedule conflicts, we had to reschedule our backyard worship night from this Wednesday to this coming Sunday Night. We’ll meet at 7pm at 925 Carolyn Ave.  Sorry for the late notice on this and many thanks to the Muratore’s for their flexible hosting!

I am excited to worship together! Invite someone to come experience God with you.

SUNDAY SERVICE TIME SURVEY

This is kind of big for us:  we have been considering changing our Sunday worship service time.  While our 11:15 AM worship times have been wonderful, we’ve encountered some logistical challenges at ELC.  We are also intrigued by the possibilities of a late afternoon, early evening worship time.

But we want to hear what you think if you’ve yet to.

Click here to learn more about what we are thinking and to complete a quick survey.
